Residence under the Status of Nationals of Friendly Nations
Residence under the status of Nationals of Friendly Countries is granted to citizens of fifty (50) countries:

Argentina
Bélgica
Chile
Costa Rica
España
Finlandia
Hong Kong
Japón
Lituania
Mónaco
Noruega
Portugal

San Marino

Requirements:
- Original passports, with a minimum validity of three (3) months.
- Three (3) passport-sized photographs.
- Certified check or manager's check for the amount of two hundred and fifty dollars (USD 250.00), payable to the National Treasury. This amount must be paid by each applicant.
- Certified check or manager's check for the amount of eight hundred dollars (USD 800.00), payable to the National Immigration Service, as a repatriation deposit. This amount must be paid by applicants aged twelve (12) years or older.
- Evidence demonstrating the purpose of requesting residence in Panama, which may be provided through any of the following options:
- A one (1) year employment contract, accompanied by proof of the existence of the company (e.g., public registry certificate and operating notice). A work permit must be obtained from the Ministry of Labor and Workforce Development for residence approval.
- Investment in real estate, with a minimum value of TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS (USD 200,000.00), which may be financed by a bank in Panama.
- A Fixed-Term Deposit for a minimum amount of TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS (USD 200,000.00).
- Criminal background certificate(s) from the applicant's country of origin, authenticated or apostilled, or from the country of residence during the last two (2) years.
- A medical certificate attesting to the applicant's good health, issued in Panama by a licensed medical professional.
- A marriage certificate or birth certificate, duly apostilled or authenticated, issued within the last six (6) months, if applying with a spouse, children, or parents.
- A letter of responsibility and proof of financial solvency for any dependents.
- A public utility receipt showing the applicant's address or a lease agreement in Panama.

Residence granted under any of these categories extends to the applicant’s children, spouse, and parents, provided the relationship is substantiated with a certificate issued by the competent authority of the applicant’s country, duly legalized.
