Self-Economic Solvency through Fixed-Term Deposit
Foreign nationals who invest in a fixed-term deposit in the amount of THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS (USD 300,000.00) in a Panamanian bank may apply for this type of residence permit, provided they demonstrate that the funds originated from abroad and that the deposit is maintained for a minimum period of three (3) years.
Requirements:
- Power of Attorney and Application submitted through an attorney.
- Three (3) photographs.
- Duly certified copy of the passport.
- Criminal Background Certificate duly apostilled or authenticated.
- Medical certificate of good health.
- Certified check for B/.250.00 made payable to the National Treasury.
- Certified check for B/.800.00 made payable to the National Immigration Service.
- Sworn Personal Background Declaration Form.
- Bank certification stating that a fixed-term deposit account has been opened in the applicant’s name, in the amount of THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS (B/.300,000.00) or its equivalent in foreign currency, with a minimum duration of three (3) years, in any bank within the national territory. This fixed-term deposit must be free of any encumbrances.
- Authenticated copy of the fixed-term deposit certificate issued by the bank.
This residence permit is granted for a period of two (2) years, after which the applicant may request permanent residency.
